The global Indian K-beauty e-commerce platform Maccaron revealed plans to expand its international footprint by launching operations in six Middle Eastern countries starting next month, Chosun Biz reported.
With the rising global popularity of K-beauty, demand in the Middle Eastern market is growing rapidly. In response, Maccaron is set to extend its services to Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Maccaron will introduce a curated collection of over 2,000 beauty products, covering skincare, sun protection, makeup, and hair care, specifically designed to suit the preferences and needs of consumers in the Middle East.
To create a seamless shopping experience, Maccaron will introduce a personalized recommendation system for customers and enable payments in both local currencies and U.S. dollars, along with building a robust logistics and delivery network across the Middle East.
‘Based on the operational know-how and data accumulated over the past six years in the Indian market, we will target Middle Eastern consumers,’ said Yoo Seung-wan, the CEO of Blimom Kids, which operates Maccaron.
‘We will quickly provide not only products tailored to consumer needs but also new products and seasonal items to leap to the top platform in global K-beauty,’ he added.
Since entering the Indian market in 2019, Maccaron has grown into the country’s leading K-beauty platform, which features over 18,000 products from 380+ brands, including COSRX and Jojotree. As of February, the platform boasts 1.16 million subscribers and 1.2 million monthly active users.
Maccaron highlighted that the documentation requirements for entering the Indian and Middle Eastern markets are largely similar, enabling brands and products already on its platform to expand into the Middle East with ease.
To streamline the process, the company leverages its proprietary AI-powered hygiene approval system, which automates document review and error detection, accelerating the entry of K-beauty products into both regions.
